Terms and conditions of use and delivery

These terms and conditions are valid between the customer and Helkama Velox (Santalantie 22, 10900 Hanko, Finland, Business ID 2277209-5). The terms and conditions apply only when the purchase has been made through the www.helkamavelox.fi webshop. All prices are in euros and include VAT at 24%. If the product you ordered is out of stock, we reserve the right to cancel the sale.

 

The delivery time is about 3–5 business days.

The products are delivered via Posti as home delivery. We charge EUR 30 per order for shipping.

Posti will deliver your order to the desired address and agree with you on the most suitable delivery time.

Please note that we do not deliver bicycles abroad or to the Åland Islands. We automatically cancel orders with a delivery address abroad or on the Åland Islands.

For transport, the bicycle is packed in a box preassembled. This means that after receiving the bike, the customer must make the bicycle ready to ride. In most cases, this means at least installing the pedals and setting the saddle and the handlebar in the correct position, but it may also mean installing the front wheel and adjusting the brakes and gears. It is also important to check the tyre pressure and add air, if necessary. The tools required for these operations are not delivered with the bicycle. You can use the Paytrail payment service. It offers all common e-payment and credit card options forms and invoice option.

Payment service provider

The payment brokerage service implementer and the payment service provider is Paytrail Oyj (2122839-7) in co-operation with Finnish banks and credit institutions. Paytrail Oyj will appear as the payee on the account statement or card invoice and will forward the payment to the merchant. Paytrail Oyj has a payment institution licence.

Online payment

The online payment service is implemented by Paytrail Oyj (2122839-7) in co-operation with Finnish banks and credit institutions. From the user’s point of view, the service works just like conventional online payments.

Walley Invoice/Installment

Flexibility and freedom of choice – pay at once or in installments at your chosen pace

Invoice and credit will give you more time to pay for your online purchases. With them, you can wait for your order to arrive before paying. You can pay either at once by invoice or in smaller instalments through credit, allowing you to pay the amount that suits you best each month and split the payment over a period of up to 36 months.

Free payment time with an invoice – safe and easy shopping

With an invoice, you always get 30 days of interest-free payment time for your online purchases. The long payment term allows you to inspect your purchase and, if necessary, return it before the invoice is due.

To take advantage of the payment term, you need a positive credit decision, which is easy to apply for at the time of purchase. You can apply for it if you are at least 18 years old and have a Finnish personal identity code and permanent official residence in Finland. Your credit rating will also be checked from Bisnode Finland Oy’s register.

The payment method can be used for purchases up to EUR 5,000.

Once you have received a positive credit decision and confirmed the purchase, you will receive an invoice for your purchase by e-mail. If you wish to pay the invoice in smaller instalments and with a payment term that suits you better (1–36 months), you need to conclude a continuous credit agreement with Norion Bank AB by logging in to My Walley at my.walley.fi. At the time of signing the credit agreement, you will be granted a credit limit that will be available for subsequent purchases in accordance with the credit terms and conditions.

When you have a valid credit agreement, you will only have to pay the minimum amount stated on the invoice by the due date, but you can also pay more than that if you wish. After that, you will receive a monthly invoice by e-mail until the credit is paid back in full. You can always choose to repay your credit by more than the minimum amount stated on the invoice.

Credit costs and credit example: promotional terms apply to the www.helkamavelox.fi webshop, according to which the interest rate on the account credit is 19.2% as nominal annual interest and the monthly fee is EUR 2.95 per month (EUR 3.80 on the first invoice). If the credit limit granted is EUR 1,000 and it has been used in its entirety for purchases made in the www.helkamavelox.fi webshop, and the credit is repaid within 36 months, the annual interest rate under the applicable promotional terms is 28.6%, the total amount of credit costs is EUR 403, the total amount payable is EUR 1,403 and the number of instalments is 36. Delayed payments are subject to statutory reminder fees and collection costs, as well as interest on arrears.

OP Invoice

Online banking payment method for customers of all banks.

OP Invoice is a payment method for online purchases. It is intended for customers of all banks.

  • You will get 45 days of interest-free payment time for your purchases. Thanks to the long payment term, you can decide if you like the product before paying.
  • You can choose to pay in instalments. You can switch easily and seamlessly to monthly instalment payments. Then you can repay at your own pace.
  • You can easily keep track of your situation. You will conveniently receive invoices by e-mail and reminders by SMS. In addition, all invoices are available in a modern way through an online service.
  • You can use OP Invoice if you are solvent and over 20 years of age and have online banking credentials for a Finnish bank.

An account management fee of EUR 2.95 will be added to the invoice. If you receive multiple invoices during the same month, you will only pay one account management fee. No account management fee will be charged when you don’t receive an invoice. So, you only pay for using OP Invoice.

You can choose to only pay the minimum instalment of the invoice, in which case the remaining amount will automatically switch to instalments. When you pay in instalments, the annual interest rate is 19.95%.*

*OP Invoice is a continuous credit facility with an effective interest rate for a EUR 1,000 credit of 26.84%, when the interest rate is fixed at 19.95% and the account management fee 2.95 EUR per month. Estimated total credit cost is 1,396.91 euros. The calculation asssumes that the credit has been withdrawn in full, the interest rate and fees of the credit remain unchanged throughout the credit term and the credit is repaid as 27.78 euro minimum/instalments once a monthwith the credit term being 36 months. The credit is granted by OP Yrityspankki Oyj, Gebhardinaukio 1, 00510 Helsinki.

 

According to the general webshop terms and conditions, you have a 14-day return policy for the products you order.

If you want to exchange an item, you need to return it and place a new order.

Contact our customer service at info@helkamavelox.fi, tell which product you wish to return, where to pick it up and what is the reason for returning it. Customer service will order pick-up for the products. Returning is free of charge. Please note that the returned product must be unused, please do not remove any stickers, parts or use the product in such a way that it becomes dirty. If you have used the product or handled it negligently, you will be liable for the decrease in the value of the product up to the full value of the product. Please remember to return all parts of the product, including the instructions for use and keys.

We do not accept products returned with cash on delivery.

The product to be returned must be carefully packaged in the original delivery package.

Once the returned item arrives at our warehouse, we begin processing. We will refund the amount using the payment method you used.

 

Helkama Velox reserves the right to cancel the order in case of obvious pricing errors. An obvious pricing error refers to a pricing error of a product in the webshop in such a way that the price of the product differs significantly and clearly from the correct price of the product. Examples of obvious pricing errors may include:

  • a price of EUR 0.00 or no price whatsoever for a product
  • if a bicycle worth hundreds of euros is reported as EUR 79, for example

In the above cases, the incorrect price is so clearly different from the correct price that the customer is considered to understand that it is incorrect.

 

The warranty starts from the day of purchase.

The warranty covers material and manufacturing defects. If a material or manufacturing defect is observed in the product, the seller or importer reserves the right to correct the defect. The warranty only applies to the original owner and is non-transferable. Repair claims and complaints under the warranty must be made without delay from the detection of the defect. A proof of purchase or a copy of it or a dated warranty certificate is always required as proof of purchase. The consumer’s legal rights are determined, where applicable, by the legislation on the sale of consumer goods. These rights are not affected by this warranty procedure. The warranty procedure is in line with the EU regulations and is valid in the EU member states.

The warranty does not apply to products that have not been installed correctly and/or adjusted according to the importer’s instructions.

The warranty does not apply to damage caused by a collision, impact, misuse of the product, failure to comply with the manufacturer’s technical regulations or other circumstances in which the product has been subjected to forces or loads incompatible with its type.

The warranty is invalid if the product has been modified or replaced with something other than the original.

The warranty is invalid if the serial number or production code has been modified, corrupted, or if the serial number or production code has been removed.

The warranty does not apply to changes caused by normal wear and tear. Wearing parts may be damaged as a result of normal use, neglect of maintenance as recommended by the importer and/or if the product has been used or installed under conditions other than those recommended or in another location. Failure to carry out normal maintenance will also invalidate the warranty.

Wearing parts include gaskets, brake pads, tyres, chains, gear sprockets, cassettes, cables, cable sleeves, handlebar grips, rear derailleur idler pulleys, wheels, disc brake discs, brake shoes, drum brake hub covers and tools.

The bicycle warranty also does not cover fitted accessories, such as kickstands, mudguards, pannier racks, bells etc.

The warranty does not cover damage that has occurred in other than normal use. Use outside of normal use includes cycling jumps on ramps or otherwise, competition or rental use, professional use. Exceptions to this can be found in Merida’s warranty terms, where a comprehensive warranty covering competitive use also applies to carbon fibre Merida bicycles in the product groups road bikes, cyclocross, hardtail mountain bikes and full suspension bicycles with rear suspension travel of 100 mm or less.

The warranty does not cover normal maintenance or bicycle adjustments.

Minor defects on the exterior that do not affect the strength or usefulness of the product, or minor irregularities in coating or chrome plating or aluminum surface caused by weathering, are not considered to be defects covered by the warranty.

Defects or damage caused during transport are not covered by the warranty.

Warranty terms for bicycles depend on the brand of the bike. Full warranty terms and conditions are provided with the bicycle.

Helkama: Five (5) year warranty on frames and rigid front forks. Suspension forks and other components have a two (2) year warranty.

Merida: Lifetime warranty for cracks etc. on aluminium and carbon fibre frames. 5-year warranty on rigid carbon fibre and aluminum front forks. 3-year warranty for fractures or the like on full suspension frames with a suspension travel of 140 mm or more. 1-year warranty for fractures or the like on frames of dirt bikes and MERIDA-branded components. Paint and stickers come with a 1-year warranty.

KTM: Aluminium frame 5 years and carbon frame 3 years

Note! The warranty period for e-bike batteries is one year and the condition is that the battery is charged and handled according to the instructions. Battery capacity also decreases over time, even when not in use.

 

We are liable for any defects in products in accordance with Finnish law. In the event of a dispute, you can refer the matter to the Consumer Disputes Board (www.kuluttajariita.fi). Before referring the matter to the Consumer Disputes Board, we recommend that you contact the Consumer Advisory Service (www.kuluttajaneuvonta.fi), tel. 029 553 6901. The Consumer Disputes Board may decide not to process the case unless the consumer has first contacted the Consumer Advisory Service.

The repair does not incur any costs if the defect is covered by the warranty. If the defect found in the product is not covered by the warranty and liability for defects, a cost estimate is made for the maintenance. The customer makes the decision on repairs subject to a charge, and Helkama Velox will ask the customer for permission to perform the repair. If the customer does not want to have the bike repaired, they will only be charged for the cost estimate. The price charged for a cost estimate is EUR 75. If the bicycle is repaired outside of warranty, the cost estimate fees are included in the maintenance price. Transport costs are always added to the prices.
