With the Shimano Autoshift technology, you can enjoy the freedom of riding around town with certainty of the right gear being selected at all times.
The system takes care of shifting gears intuitively and automatically. Thanks to smooth and precise shifting, Autoshift makes riding carefree and allows you to focus only on the essentials: riding. For starting off from traffic lights, you will always have the right gear, just as for acceleration, take-off and cruising on the streets.
How does it work?
Autoshift is an automatic shifting technology that monitors your riding style and always shifts the right gear to suit the situation.
The system sensors continuously measure your cadence (pedalling speed), torque and speed to automatically shift you to the optimum gear, without you having to shift gears. When the speed and cadence slow down and the torque increases, the system selects a lower gear. When you start pedalling, the system shifts to a higher gear so that the gear is always suitable at the right time.
